Cypress Lakes Country Club, previously named Ormond Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located only fifteen miles west of New Orleans in Destrehan, Louisiana.
The course first opened for play in 1978. The course was designed by Dick Biddle.
Cypress Lakes, previously Ormond Country Club, changed name and ownership in October 2010. The new owners acquired the bankrupt property and immediately invested over a million dollars in property upgrades.
Cypress Lakes is a par-72, 6,556-yard golf course. The layout has 17 ponds and decades-old Cypress trees. Generous Bermuda fairways surround Bermuda greens, with 40 strategically placed bunkers and several forced carries over wetlands and water creating both a challenge and a dramatic backdrop for golf. The golf course is the cornerstone of the Ormond community, an upscale neighborhood of approximately 500 homes.

Very nice course. I like the layout, but it has water in play on on 17 of 18 holes. All par 3's requite a shot over water. On a bad day, you can lose balls. I enjoy playing this course. They have been puttig money back into the course recently.
